I've been a devoted K-beauty fan for 10 years, so naturally, I'm compiling the best Korean beauty gifts this holiday season. You see, the number of Korean skin care, makeup, and hair care products I've tested continues to grow with each passing year, so I'm pretty good at sussing out what is worth your money. It also doesn't hurt that K-beauty is at the forefront of innovation, gentle, efficacious, and relatively affordable—that's exactly what makes this blossoming category a hotbed for incredible gifts…so less talking and more glowing. Happy shopping, gifting, and treating yourself!

Allure commerce editor Sarh Han using the Chasin’ Rabbits Bunny Line Smoother

Sarah Han

Ever wonder how K-beauty brands enter your favorite beauty retailers? The team behind K-Beauty World at Ulta Beauty is one way, and we couldn’t be more appreciative. Whether you’re shopping online or in-store, this stacked curation of skin-care and makeup brands has something for everyone. Because we’re the Beauty Expert, our eyes go straight to the Expert Kit but, depending on your giftee’s familiarity with K-beauty, there are also K-Beauty for Beginners and K-Beauty Viral Sensations sets up for grabs.

In this particular lineup, the Chasin' Rabbits Bunny Line Smoother—an eye cream formulated with green tea, sacha inchi oil, and niacinamide—is a standout. I don't use one every day, but when I do, I appreciate the cooling, depuffing effect of a metal rollerball applicator. After attending to my eye area, I'll use whatever's left over and roll it over the center of my forehead and smile lines.

If you haven't heard of Mixsoon, where've you been—or rather, bean? The Bean Essence might remind you of the Cosrx Snail Mucin Essence, but it one-ups the latter because it has gentle exfoliation on its roster of benefits, thanks to fermented soybean extract. It's no wonder Korean makeup artists swear by it for pre-makeup prep. That's right, fermented soybeans give you a smooth-as-heck canvas. And I'd be lying if I said the syrupy viscosity of it all (slightly less thick than CosRx) isn't fun to play with.

Allure contributing commerce writer Christa Joanna Lee using the Biodance Bio-Collgen Real Deep Mask

Christa Joanna Lee

Biodance's Bio-Collagen Real Deep Masks went viral for good reason—many good reasons, in fact. Whether you pop one on for a few hours during the workday (honestly, a great excuse to go off-camera for Zoom meetings) or keep it on throughout the night (couldn't be me, as I toss and turn too much), these soothing, jelly-like masks make your skin look absolutely glowy and radiant. Let's face it: When hyaluronic acid (oligo HA) and collagen are involved—and both involve low molecular weights, meaning they literally weigh less and thus can penetrate skin more deeply—the results are going to be good. Contributing commerce writer Christa Joanna Lee sums it up: "By morning, my skin feels deeply hydrated and looks gorgeously glowy, making it totally worth the effort to stay still in my sleep.”

Squee!

Looking for gentle skin care the whole family can use? Illiyoon's your girl. These fragrance-free, ultra-soothing creams can be used all over and not just on the face—talk about cocooning yourself (and your loved ones). Take it from former Allure beauty editor Devon Abelman: “My legs are a hot spot for eczema, so I have to be extremely careful about the body-care products I use or I will be up all night scratching at my skin,” she says. “Illiyoon's Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream is a no-brainer with a fragrance-free formula that blankets skin in comforting moisture and never annoyingly transfers onto clothes.”

Han applying Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Probiotics Barrier Essence

Sarah Han

Skin flooding—as in, layering hydrating skin-care products one after another—is a trend we can totally get behind, especially come winter. Soko Glam gets it, too. Take the K-beauty curator's Skin Flooding Kit, which takes the guesswork out of your skin-care routine. We've been longtime fans of I'm From Rice Toner (if you love milky toners, you'll adore this), as well as the Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Probiotics Barrier Essence, which has a slightly thicker, more syrupy texture that my skin drinks up every time. Toners and essences are my favorite skin-care steps because the patting/pressing motions are so satisfying, and the glow is immediately apparent—especially after multiple layers. This is the only kind of flooding we want to ever experience!

Attention, sensitive skin girlies: Dr. Jart's Cicapair line was made for you. You probably have heard about how wonderful Centella asiatica (or cica for short) is for calming inflammation and redness. Well, all four products in this handy kit—a sheet mask, serum, moisturizer, and color-correcting cream with SPF—contain that star ingredient, plus other soothing workhorses like allantoin, shea butter, niacinamide, and more.

The Medicube Booster Pro is not just a viral, celebrity-loved sensation. It's one of our top microcurrent devices—but, like most tools, it requires commitment. Keep up with your weekly or bi-weekly sessions, and you'll start seeing results. "This is the most powerful device I have ever used," says editor in chief Jessica Cruel. She tends to only use the Derma Shot and MC Modes for her skin prep routine—and the latter is her favorite for getting lymphatic drainage before a big event or live TV taping.

Han applying Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Gel.

Sarah Han

I cycle through moisturizers a lot. (I'm not loyal, and I'm not sorry about it.) However, Beauty of Joseon's Red Water Bean Gel caught my attention years ago and has held it ever since. It's so satisfying and refreshing to apply, and even though it was perfect for my combination skin during the summer, I still find myself reaching for it as the temps drop for dewy skin goodness. The Red Bean Refreshing Pore Mask is a lovely weekly treat jam-packed with 30% Haenam red bean extract and kaolin clay, and provides the gentle yet effective exfoliation that my T-zone desperately needs.

Hanyul

Yuja Vitamin Sleeping Mask

$30

Amazon

Soko Glam

To me, Hanyul is that chic older sister I would've been following around and taking advice from if I had one growing up. The brand harvests carefully selected ingredients, such as chestnut shells from South Korea's Buyeo province, red rice from Yeoju province, and, in the case of the Yuja Vitamin Sleeping Mask, yuja fruits from the Goheung area. In the clip above, you can see me mouthing the words, “It smells so good,” because there are six yuja fruits (rich in vitamins B, C, E, and P, whew) in a single jar. Aromatherapy aside, this jelly leave-on mask immediately plumps my skin, and I wake up looking more fresh-faced and less dull.

What's better than a full-size CosRx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence? Three more CosRx products for glowier, plumper results. The 6 Peptide Skin Booster Serum is my personal favorite, since it's so easy to layer with other serums when I need extra hydration (pretty much always). But that's not all—there's also a full-size Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream and mini Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream to round out your K-beauty routine. Honestly, it's a great deal at $50.

Tirtir may have gone viral for its cushion foundations, but don't sleep on the lip tints. I'm very into the Waterism Glow Tints—from the glass-sculpture-like tubes to the moisturizing formulas—and the range of hues included in this kit actually has range: Mauve. Rose, Honey Nut, Cassis Plum, and Nutty Pink. To top it all off (literally), a transparent lip plumper for a dash more oomph.

Given the choice between matte and shimmer eye-shadow finishes, I will choose shimmers about 90% of the time. Unleashia's Glitterpedia Eye Palette pretty much combines all of my favorite (and versatile!) shades—pink! Gold! Copper!—into one handy compact. These shimmers and glitters instantly bring my eyes to life and zhuzh up any look. I just use my fingers to swipe a subtle layer onto my lids, usually focusing on the inner halves and corners, and voila—a touch of everyday glam.

Han applying Peripera Ink The Velvet Lip Tint in Heart Fuchsia Pink.

Sarah Han

On the hunt for stocking stuffers? Peripera's Ink The Velvet Lip Tint has been a mainstay in my lip product collection for years, and now it's an Allure Best of Beauty Award winner–the ultimate flex. For $10, name a better, longer-lasting, and more pigmented lip tint. I'll wait! The applicator holds a good amount of product without becoming gloppy, and the triangular tip is perfect for lining my outer corners and defining the Cupid's bow. I like to go pretty hard with the shading, but you can concentrate your application on the middle of the lips and blur out the edges with your finger for a subtle gradient effect.

Fwee Lip&Cheek Blurry Pudding Pot

Fwee Pudding Pot Keyring Set in branded components on a light gray background

Fwee

Pudding Pot Keyring Set

$20

Amazon

I like pigmented blushes, but this stuff—Fwee Lip&Cheek Blurry Pudding Pot—is really pigmented. All you need is a tiny dab for a lovely flush of color that you can leave as is or easily build up, so one tiny tub will last you a long time. Most cream blushes I've tried leave a semi-dewy finish, but this fluffy formula leaves a soft-matte finish that slightly blurs the look of my pores. And with a wide range of 30 shades (categorized by six base colors: nude, pink, coral, red, rose, and mauve), there's something for everyone. You can use this on your lips, but I tend to stick to my cheeks—if I did use it as lip color, I'd definitely moisturize first.

Colorgram Milk Bling Shadow

Colorgram

Milk Bling Shadow

Amazon

I always get compliments and questions when I wear this glittery liner-shadow hybrid on my lower lash line for an extra pop. Colorgram Milk Bling Shadow isn't heavy or chunky at all, and it dries quickly, so there's no fallout or residue. It's the easiest trick in my book to elevate a simple eye look.

Mise En Scene Perfect Serum

Perfect Serum

Han applying Mise En Scene Perfect Serum.

Sarah Han

My hair-care routine is…minimal, to put it nicely. Mise En Scene (in particular, this serum) has been on my radar for the longest time, and I'm a little upset I hadn't tried it sooner. My hair, despite only having a tiny bit of bend, gives way to a ton of flyaways every time I blow-dry or air-dry. Perhaps I'm not skilled enough with the hairdryer, but this serum, which has a boatload of oils—most notably, golden Moroccan argan oil—tamed my frizz and flyaways as best as a post-wash product ever has. My blow-drying technique definitely needs work, but I'll take this small win. The Perfect Serum may not make my hair look perfect, but goshdarn, does it boost shine and leave my hair way smoother than before.

Dr. Groot Scalp Revitalizing Solution Miracle In Shower Treatment

Dr. Groot

Scalp Revitalizing Solution Miracle In Shower Treatment

$33

Amazon

It's all about the scalp, baby. No matter what your hair concerns are, everyone benefits from a scalp refresh. My favorite Dr. Groot product is this Miracle In Shower Treatment, which you use in place of conditioner two to three times a week. (I wash my hair at most twice a week, so I end up using it only once.) This rinse-out treatment is infused with rosemary oil, arginine, panthenol, niacinamide, and salicylic acid to cleanse buildup and soothe my dry, day-four scalp—all in five seconds, though I leave it in for one minute for good measure. Former Allure editor Devon Abelman recommends the Scalp Relief Tonic to soothe itchiness—and you can even use it as a dry shampoo substitute.
